Once a day, Monday through Saturday, hot, nutritious meals are delivered to Freeman Community Residents. The noon meals are prepared by FRHS Nutrition Services. The cost of the meal is $5.09.
The meals are geared to fit specific dietary needs, like gluten free diets, no sodium diets, or diabetic friendly foods.
“We are very fortunate to have reliable volunteers to deliver these meals,” said FRHS Nutrition Services Clinical Coordinator Cindy Waldner. “They come, rain or shine. This is a wonderful program. It benefits people who have difficulty with cooking due to illnesses or having just returned home from the hospital and are recovering and need short or even long term assistance.”
There is no Meals on Wheels delivery on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years. No Meals on Wheels will be delivered when Freeman schools are cancelled because of weather.
