Lab Services

The lab at Freeman Regional Health Services offers a comprehensive menu of lab tests, serving Freeman Medical Center, Freeman Regional Nursing Home, the FRHS Clinics in Freeman, Marion, Menno and Bridgewater, Freeman Regional Assisted Living, Menno-Olivet Care Center and Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater.

Inpatient and outpatient laboratory services provided within the department include bacteriology, blood banking, chemistry analysis, hematology and coagulation, urinalysis, electrocardiography, event monitoring and holter monitoring.

Tests for liver, kidney and cardiac function are done routinely, as well as tests for therapeutic drug monitoring, anemia profiles, cholesterol checks, blood typing, strep screens, glucose screening and pregnancy tests.  Because technological advancements are constantly changing and improving, the lab strives to stay current with equipment so the newest and latest tests may be performed with the most accurate results.

The Health Screening at FRHS allows you to order tests without a visit to the doctor’s office or insurance involvement.  The tests are intended to be a helpful tool but should not be used as a substitute for a regular doctor’s visit.

All the testing is done in the FRHS accredited laboratory and performed by the professional staff.  Test procedures are a screening tool and not designed to diagnose an illness.  It is the responsibility of the patient to initiate medical follow-up to confirm test results.

Adult patients may request their own testing.  Parents/legal guardians may also request testing for their children under age 18.

These screenings are offered on a “cash only” basis. No insurance or Medicare/Medicaid claim will be filed. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, check or credit card.
