Activities

The Activities Department at FRHS provides a variety of programs and activities for Nursing Home residents.  Staff plans programs geared toward meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident.

Programming includes a daily devotional period every morning, Monday through Friday. Each afternoon special programs are planned.

Other programs may include music, Church Groups and Bible studies, special holiday and birthday parties, discussions, games, baking demonstrations, outings, ice cream socials, and manicures.  Coffee is served each afternoon following the programs.  Patio games are planned as well during nice weather.

In the above picture, resident Pearl visits with a 2nd grader from Freeman Public Schools.  The class visited the facility, and gave a program for the residents.

The Activities Department also provides 1-1 stimulation for those residents who need to be confined to their rooms due to illness or other circumstances.  These activities can include reading to the resident, writing letters, and sensory stimulation such as hand massage.  Visual stimulation includes DVDs, Church CDs and talking books.

Activities are available for Nursing Home residents, Adult Day Services Clients and Swing Bed patients.
