Lindsey Unruh Promoted To Director of Social Services
Earlier this fall, Freeman Regional Health Services promoted Lindsey Unruh, LSW to Director of Social Services. With more than seven years of service at Freeman Regional, Unruh entered her new role with a firm understanding of her growing responsibilities and is surpassing expectations.
“Lindsey has consistently demonstrated her ability to be an effective and valuable asset to FRHS. We have the utmost confidence that she will work diligently on behalf of our patients and residents to navigate care. We are proud to promote her to this position.” Courtney Unruh, CEO
Lindsey grew up in Freeman and was a 2006 graduate of Freeman Academy. Following graduation, she attended Bethel College in Kansas, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work in 2010. After moving back to Freeman in 2014, she began working for Freeman Regional.
Lindsey stated “It has been a privilege to be a part of the care team at Freeman Regional for the past seven years and I am excited to take on a leadership role as we navigate the many changes and challenges facing healthcare. I believe in the mission of Freeman Regional and the pivotal role this organization has in our community. This is an especially important time of transition and growth for FRHS and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this team!”
Lindsey lives in rural Freeman with her husband and three children. They are happy to be farming with her family in addition to our other jobs and endeavors.
Rupp Hired As New Social Worker
On October 10, Freeman Regional Health Services welcomed Katie Rupp, LSW to Freeman Regional to partner with Unruh, as a Social Worker.
Rupp is a 2016 graduate of Freeman High School and in 2019 graduated from South Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology, and 3 minors. Prior to working at FRHS, Katie was a Social Worker for ‘All About U Adoptions’, where she walked along side birth parents that chose adoption. While in this position she learned to communicate and work with people from all walks of life, assist them with any tasks – small or large – and how to jump head first into any role, all skills that will serve her well in her new role at Freeman Regional.
“I am thrilled to have joined the team at Freeman Regional and look forward to growing my skills and knowledge to best serve FRHS and its communities. I have loved every minute of caring for others and lending a helping hand. I’m so excited to be a team member of a vital community organization moving forward.”
Katie and her husband Tanner were excited to move back to Freeman after college and are looking forward to being more involved in the community as they raise their daughter in Freeman, where they both grew up.
