A special way of caring for a terminally ill loved one
Freeman Regional Health Services is proud to partner with Avera Hospice to provide compassionate, palliative care for patients with life-limiting conditions. Hospice care is not just for people with cancer. Many do have cancer, but others have heart or kidney disease, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder. In addition to providing increased comfort and expert care, hospice has been shown to help patients live longer than those without hospice care.
The hospice team consists of specially trained nurses, a physician, pastoral care, and social workers and is available as a resource for physicians, patients and families 24/7 at any point during their illness. Assistance includes pain management, spiritual and social support, bereavement counseling, and helping families deal with their own stress as they care for patients with end-of-life situations.
Patients and their families have the support of Hospice, and the comfort of being in their own community hospital. Ask us about Hospice at FRHS by calling 605-925-4000.
