Pioneering digital diagnosis, delivering compassionate care

Digital imaging is a modern miracle, but at Freeman Regional Health Services, we believe that operating intelligent machines is only part of our professional responsibility.  Diagnostic Imaging is critical in helping physicians detect and classify various diseases or conditions and our technologists are dedicated to give you the most accurate information in the most comfortable way possible.  We have been dedicated to serving individuals in the Freeman community for over 70 years.

Creating a new standard in diagnostic accuracy

FRHS’s Radiology Department will save time and anxiety by helping reach a speedy and accurate diagnosis.  Our state-of-the-art imaging tools provide accurate diagnoses and minimize testing times.  We strive to give our patients quality care without the wait.

General Diagnostic Imaging

Diagnostic imaging lets doctors look inside your body for clues about a medical condition. A variety of machines and techniques can create pictures of the structures and activities inside your body. The type of imaging your doctor uses depends on your symptoms and the part of your body being examined.

Ultrasound

Diagnostic ultrasounds use sound waves to make pictures of the body. Ultrasound, also called sonography, shows the structures inside the body. The images can help guide diagnosis and treatment for many diseases and conditions.

Most ultrasounds are done using a device outside the body. However, some involve placing a small device inside the body.

CT Scans

A computerized tomography scan, also called a CT scan, is a type of imaging that uses X-ray techniques to create detailed images of the body. It then uses a computer to create cross-sectional images, also called slices, of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside the body. CT scan images show more detail than plain X-rays do.

A CT scan has many uses. It’s used to diagnose disease or injury as well as to plan medical, surgical or radiation treatment.

Mobile MRI

A mobile MRI is designed to improve access to care while providing the same diagnostic performance as that of a fixed MRI systems. With a mobile MRI unit, state-of-the art healthcare can be brought to Freeman Regional’s doorstep.

3D Mammography

Early detection of small breast cancers by screening mammography greatly improves your chances for a full recovery. FRHS is home to a new 3D mammography. Compared with conventional mammography, 3D mammography can read the density of tissue and distinguish cancerous vs. non-cancerous tissue with great accuracy. Imagine the kind of reassurance this offers. Knowing your test has this level of accuracy is literally priceless.

A mammogram is a deeply personal experience. Our highly specialized equipment allows the patient to have the least amount of compression time in the industry. Our mammography technologists have years of experience and are compassionate, caring and skilled at making your mammogram experience successful and free of discomfort.

Echocardiograms

An echocardiogram, also known as an “echo”, is a noninvasive ultrasound scan that uses sound waves to create images of the heart and nearby blood vessels. A doctor or other health care provider may request an echocardiogram to help diagnose heart conditions, such as heart failure, congenital heart disease, or valve problems.

Bone Density (DXA)

A DXA scan (bone density test) is a quick, painless way to check your bone health. It’s similar to a regular X-ray, but measures the strength and mineral content of your bones instead of just taking pictures of them. Providers use DXA scans to screen you for osteoporosis, osteopenia and other conditions that can silently weaken your bones.

Planet Heart
