Two valuable educational opportunities for area youth will be offered this May at Freeman Regional Health Services. Space is limited for both sessions, and early registration is encouraged.

Safe @ Home Safety Class – May 22, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Open to youth ages 9–13, this engaging half-day class covers important safety skills for when kids are home alone. Participants will learn about severe weather safety, handling the door and phone, stranger awareness, basic first aid, reasons to call 911, internet safety, and snack and meal ideas. The class fee is $15.

Babysitting Clinic – May 23, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Designed for students ages 12 and older, this one-day clinic teaches the essentials of responsible caregiving. Topics include child safety, age-appropriate activities, diapering and feeding, basic first aid and CPR, and nutrition basics. The cost is $25 per participant and students should bring a lunch.

Both sessions will be held at the FRHS West Conference Room. To reserve a spot, email heather.iversen@state.sd.us. Registration is required, and spots are limited.
